Add the Switcher Port

To sense on-air tally from a production switcher it must be connected to a tally system interface (TSI) port. Only one production switcher can be connected to a port.
  • In the last row of the table, click the box under the column labeled Port Name.
  • In the box, type a name for the port. The name must be unique and should reflect the specific device connected to the port such as SWR, SWR1, or PCRA. Keep it short because this name will appear in many other tables when configuring the tally system.

Choose the TSI connected to the Switcher

  • Click the box under the column labeled TSI Tally Controller Unit.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the TSI that is connected to the switcher.

Choose the Type of Switcher

  • Click the box under the column labeled Protocol.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the manufacturer and model of the switcher or select the protocol used by the switcher to send tally information.

Specify the Switcher Settings

Depending on the switcher protocol selected, some boxes located within the Device Configuration pane may become selectable. Most switchers use a serial port to connect to the TSI.
  • Click the box labeled Primary COM Port.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the TSI communication port that connects the switcher to the TSI.
  • Most switchers use standard communication settings, but if this switcher uses non-standard settings, click the check box labeled Override Comm Settings and specify all communication settings directly.
