Add the GPO Port

To operate GPOs, GPO devices must be connected to a tally system interface (TSI) port. Many GPO devices can be operated through one port.
  • In the last row of the table, click the box under the column labeled Port Name.
  • In the box, type a name for the port. The name must be unique and should reflect function or location of the specific devices connected to the port such as TXI1, 4211A, or CCU. Keep it short because this name will appear in other tables when configuring the tally system.

Choose the TSI connected to the GPO Devices

  • Click the box under the column labeled TSI Tally Controller Unit.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the TSI that is connected to the GPO devices.

Choose the Type of GPO Devices

  • Click the box under the column labeled Type.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select either TXI-Series or 4211 to match the model of GPO devices connected to this port.

Specify the GPO Port Settings

The 4211 type of GPO device uses a serial port to connect to the TSI. The TXI-Series type of GPO device uses an Ethernet port to connect to the TSI.
  • Click the box under the column labeled Port.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the TSI communication port that connects the 4211 GPO devices to the TSI, or select TXI-Series for TSI-Series GPO devices. This is the only valid setting and may already be selected.
  • In the same row, click the box under the column labeled Address Block.
  • Enter a number that will identify the location of the first GPO device input (GPI) within the tally system. If this is the first or only GPO device port, enter zero.

Add the 4211 GPO Device

There can be multiple 4211 GPO devices connected to a GPO port. Each device can hold a different number of GPOs.
  • In the last row of the table, click the box under the column labeled Name.
  • In the box, type a name for the GPO device. The name must be unique and should reflect the function or location of the specific device connected to the port such as 4211-1 or CCU.

Specify the 4211 GPO Device Settings

  • Click the box under the column labeled Device Port.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the GPO port that connects the 4211 GPO device to the TSI.
  • In the same row, click the box under the column labeled Size.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the total number of GPOs available on this 4211 GPO device.
Repeat for additional 4211 GPO devices that are to operate on this port.

Add the TXI-Series GPO Device

There can be multiple TXI-Series GPO devices connected to a GPO port. Each device can hold a different number of GPOs.
  • In the last row of the table, click the box under the column labeled Name.
  • In the box, type a name for the GPO device. The name must be unique and should reflect the function or location of the specific device connected to the port such as TXI-A or RACK1A.

Specify the TXI-Series GPO Device Settings

  • Click the box under the column labeled Device Port.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the GPO port that connects the TXI-Series GPO device to the TSI.
  • In the same row, click the box under the column labeled Type.
  • Click the drop-down menu arrow in the box and select the type of this TXI-Series GPO device.
  • In the same row, click the box under the column labeled IP Address.
  • Enter the IP address of the TXI-Series GPO device in standard dotted format.
Repeat for additional TXI-Series GPO devices that are to operate on this port.
