How to create/edit the wizard pages

This file defines the individual wizard screens that can be shown in Tally System Console 2.  Modifications to this file are made with a WYSIWYG web editor (KompoZer). 

The content for each wizard page is stored inside a 1x1 table.  Anything outside the tables (like this) is ignored.

To define each wizard page:

1. Create a new 1x1 table at the bottom and fill in the content that will be displayed for that page.
2. Only the text foreground colour will be used by TSC2 -- set this to white.  The black background colour is ignored (it is only set to black below to make the white text easier to read).
3. To set the black background in the table, in KompoZer, right-click the table and choose Table Cell Properties.  Select the Table tab.  Choose black for the background colour.
4. A wizard navigation ID to all TSC2 to individually identify and locate the right wizard page needs to be set.  To do this, in KompoZer, right-click the table and choose Table Cell Properties.  Select the Table tab (not the Cells tab!).  Click Advanced Edit button.  In the Attribute drop down, select "id".  In the Value field, enter in a unique ID.  This ID will be used in the Wizard Navigation file.

To reference an image inside a page:

1. Click on Image button in KompoZer's toolbar.  Select your JPG/PNG file within the WizardImages subfolder.
2. Uncheck the "URL is relative to page location"
3. Replace all folders up to WizardImages specified in the URL with the tag #absolute_root#.  For example: if the URL is "file:///C:/TallyConsole2%20Templates/Templates/WizardImages/VirtualGPIOutput3-1.png" then replace it with "file:///#absolute_root#/WizardImages/VirtualGPIOutput3-1.png"
4. Select "Don't use alternate text"
   

Start New/Open Existing Configuration File If starting a new configuration file, enter the name of the TSIs that will be programmed, their interface #, and IP address.  Active box should be checked. If opening an existing configuration file (File > Open), select the file that will be used to configure the receiving end for the virtual GPIs.

Virtual GPI Port Setup Create a new Parallel Interface Port for Virtual GPIs. The new entry should be of Type "Virtual GPI (Serial)". Select the COM port which will be used for receiving the virtual GPIs from the transmitting system. Set the Address Block value to avoid overlapping the GPI addresses of any existing TXI-Series GPI controllers.  Typically a value of 400 should suffice.

Virtual Switcher Setup Create a new switcher entry by filling in a Name for the virtual switcher (e.g. EXTERN) Make a selection from TSI Tally Controller column Set the Protocol column to Virtual Switcher

Setup Virtual Program Bus Create a new entry in the Destinations table by filling in a name for the destination (e.g. EXTERN) Select the corresponding Output Device (e.g. EXTERN) Enter the Device IO Name (e.g. PROGRAM) Set the Control Style to Follow GPIs (Virtual)

Assign Virtual GPI Inputs Under GPIs > GPI Inputs, locate the subheading for the virtual GPI device containing the inputs that will be monitored. Select one or more consecutive virtual GPIs inputs to monitor Drag-and-drop selection onto the Control Style Description column

Associate Virtual Inputs to Source Create one or more new sources to be tallied from the remote vehicle Optionally fill in the Long and Short name Under the column heading for the virtual switcher (e.g. EXTERN), enter the corresponding 1-based input number

Setup Tally Areas Make a new tally area entry to represent the remote production vehicle (e.g. EXTERNAL). Under Plant Layout > Tally Areas > Multiple Control Rooms, click on the new tally area created (e.g. EXTERNAL) to bring up the tally types. For the row containing PGM, under the Destinations column, select the name of the virtual program bus (e.g. EXTERN). This allows UMDs and GPI outputs assigned to the new (e.g. EXTERNAL) tally area to tally sources selected by the virtual program bus using the PGM Tally Type. Under Plant Layout > Tally Areas > Multiple Control Rooms, click on the name of the local tally area (usually named after the local production switcher port: e.g. SWR). For the row containing EXT, under the Destinations column, select the name of the virtual program bus created earlier on (e.g. EXTERN). This allows UMDs and GPI outputs to tally sources selected by the virtual program bus using the EXT Tally Type.

Save Configuration Configuration for receiving system is complete and can now be saved (File > Save As).
