Settings relating to overall switcher configuration (Config)

 

The status area shows the output signal assignment for each operating bank.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Adjusting the reference phase

To adjust the switcher internal reference phase, adjust the following parameter.

M/E Config: Set the program configuration for the M/E and P/P outputs.

 

Standard mode: Fix the maximum of four outputs (Out1 to 4) and program output configuration as follows.

Out1: Program output

Out2: Preview output

Out3: Clean output

Out4: Key preview output

Program output: Clean output + key 1 + key 2 + key 3 + key 4

 

 

 

Multi-program mode: Increase the number of M/E or P/P programs,  and assign any of the following to the maximum of six outputs (Out1 to 6).

Program outputs 1 to 4, preview output, key preview outputs 1 and 2, clean output.

Further, you can select the program background from Clean or Utility2, and change the combination of signals from which it is configured.

Again, you can set the key preview configuration to video mode or key mode. In key mode, select whether to link operation to the on/off state of the key, or have it always on.

 

 

 

 

 

 

DSK mode (P/P only): Treat P/P as four DSKs, with no background transitions. Of backgrounds 1 to 4, set one to configure the program output. Assigning the output of each bank in Multi Program mode

On the list in the status area, select the bank output to be assigned.

The selected output appears in reverse video.

K-PVW Config: Set the key preview configuration to either video mode or key mode. In key mode, select whether to link the key state to the on/off operation, or have it always on.

 

You can make this setting at any time, regardless of the operation mode.

 

The status area shows the key preview configuration for each bank.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Press directly on the list appearing in the status area, to select key preview to be set.

 

 

 

Press the arrow keys to scroll the reverse video cursor, to select key preview to be set.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the <Mode> group, select [Video] mode or [Key] mode.

 

If you select Key mode, In the <Key 1> to <Key 4> groups, select the corresponding key status.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the <Bkgd> group, select the background. In standard mode or Multi Program mode, select [Clean] or [Utility2], then In the <Key 1> to <Key 4> groups, select the corresponding key status.

 

In DSK mode, select any of [Bkgd1] to [Bkgd4] turn the knobs to select the background signal.

User 1 to 8 Config: Assign the User regions, being color backgrounds 1 and 2, AUX1 to 48, monitor 1 to 8, frame memory 1 to 8, and color correctors 1 and 2, to any of USER1 to USER8. This is required to assign these regions to Snapshot and effect registers.

If you change the user region settings, the previously stored snapshot data and keyframe effect data can no longer be used. Use the following procedure.

Press the arrow keys to scroll the reverse video cursor, to the region you want to set.

 

 

 

 

Turn the knob, to select the region you want to set.

Assigning PGM/PST logically to an M/E

Make settings for handling PGM/PST hardware logically as an M/E.

M/E and logical M/E organization.

Select the M/E you want to logically set to the PGM/PST from the <Logical M/E to Physical P/P> group.

P/P: assign the physical PGM/PST as logical PGM/PST.

M/E-1: assign the physical PGM/PST as logical M/E-1.

M/E-2: assign the physical PGM/PST as logical M/E-2.

Setting the assignments of DME channels to use on the individual M/E banks

The Switcher>Config>DME Config menu allows you to select the DME channels to use on the M/E and PGM/PST banks for processed keys or DME wipes.

 Using any of the following methods, select the M/E or PGM/PST bank for which you want to set a DME channel assignment.

Press directly on the list in the status area, to select the M/E or PGM/PST bank for which you want to set a DME channel assignment.

 

 

Press the arrow keys to scroll the reverse video cursor, to select the M/E or PGM/PST bank for which you want to set a DME channel assignment.

 

 

In the <DME Channel> group, press one of the [Ch1] to [Ch8] buttons turning it on.

The corresponding DME channel is assigned to the M/E or PGM/PST bank selected.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Setting the side flag video material and operation

Make settings relating to the video material (4:3 aspect ratio) for applying side flags.

These settings are valid only on the MVS-8000A; not valid on the MVS-8000.

 

 

 

 

To set the aspect ratio (4:3/16:9)

The status area lists the video/key pair numbers, video signal source names, and aspect ratio settings (16:9/4:3).

 

 

 

  Press directly on the list in the status area, to select the pair number for which you want to make the setting.

 

  Use the arrow keys to scroll the reverse video cursor, to select the pair number for which you want to make the setting.

 

  Turn the knobs, to select the pair number for which you want to make the setting.

To select all  pair numbers, press [ALL].

 

 

 

 

 

In the <Aspect> group, press [4:3] to select video material to have side flags applied automatically.

If you select [16:9], no side flags are applied.

 

 

Press [Auto Side Flags]. Side flags are automatically applied when a signal with aspect ratio set to 4:3 is selected in the cross-point control block. Pressing this button toggles the setting on and off. This setting applies to all M/E and PGM/PST banks.

 

 

 

Set to crop to 4:3 when a DME wipe is executed

Press [Auto Crop]. When side flags are enabled, you can automatically crop an image as set to be a 4:3 image when executing a DME wipe. Pressing this button toggles the setting on and off. This setting applies to all of the M/E and PGM/PST banks.

 

 

 

Adjust the width of the side flags

You can adjust the width of the side flags. Use the following procedure.

Press [Width] and adjust the following parameters.
