Setting Up Red Hat Linux

Proceed as follows.
  1. Log in as root.

    When GUI has not started, type "startx".

  2. Select the menus in the order of: System > Preferences > Network Conncections.

    The Network Connections dialog box appears.



  3. In the Wired tab, select "eth0" from the list of devices, and click the Edit button.

    The Editing System eth0 dialog box appears.



  4. Enter the Address, Netmask, Gateway, DNS servers and Search domains.

  5. In order to activate this setting automatically, select the "Connect automatically" check box.

  6. Click the Apply button, to close the dialog box.

  7. In the Wired tab, select "eth1" from the list of devices, and click the Edit button.



    The Editing System eth1 dialog box appears.



  8. Enter the IP address 10.129.8.1 (fixed) in the Address box, and the subnet mask 255.192.0.0 in the Subnet Mask box.

  9. In order to activate this setting automatically, select the "Connect automatically" check box.

  10. Click the Apply button, to close the dialog box.

  11. Click the Close button, to close the dialog box.

  12. Select the menus in the order of: System > Shut Down.

  13. Select Restart the computer.
